Quick answers to the questions we hear most. If you can't find what you need, contact us.
TipPal is the first app built exclusively for expressing gratitude in person. You can send a gift or a thank-you to anyone who made your day — rideshare drivers, restaurant staff, hotel housekeeping, valets, content creators, and more — using Tap to Pay on your phone, without pressure and without cash.
TipPal currently operates in the United States and launched in Orlando, Florida. We are planning to expand to more regions over time. Availability may depend on local regulations and our payment processor's coverage.
Yes. You need a TipPal account to send or receive gratitude and to withdraw your balance. Creating an account requires an email address and the personal information needed to verify your identity.
No. TipPal is not a bank, is not an independently authorized money transmitter, and does not offer FDIC-insured deposit accounts. TipPal is a technology platform that facilitates payment processing between users through our payment processor, Stripe, Inc.
KYC stands for "Know Your Customer" — the identity verification process required by U.S. anti-money laundering laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act. We complete KYC to confirm you are who you say you are and to help prevent fraud and illicit activity.
You can create an account and start receiving gratitude right away. You will need to complete KYC before you can cash out (withdraw funds to an external bank account or card). We may also ask for verification at other points to comply with regulatory requirements.
You must be at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement in your jurisdiction, and use the Service in compliance with all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local laws.
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing support@tippalcorp.com from the email registered to your account. See our account deletion page for step-by-step instructions and what data is removed.
Open the TipPal app, choose the person you want to thank, enter the amount you'd like to give, and hold your phone near theirs (or use Tap to Pay) to complete the gesture. You can also send gratitude to registered TipPal users directly in the app.
To withdraw your balance (cash out), you must first complete identity verification (KYC). Once verified, you can transfer available funds to an external bank account or card. Withdrawals may be delayed, suspended, or rejected if verification is incomplete or during compliance reviews.
The balance displayed in the app is an accounting record of credit in your favor — a pending settlement, not a bank deposit, a securities account, or an insured financial product. It does not earn interest. See our Terms of Service for the full description.
Yes. Registered users can transfer their available balance to other TipPal users within the app. These internal transfers are accounting adjustments, not new external financial transactions, and do not require KYC unless one party withdraws to an external bank account or card.
No. TipPal is not a bank and does not offer FDIC-insured deposit accounts. The balance shown is not a bank deposit. Funds are processed and held through our payment processor, Stripe, under TipPal's processing credentials until verification requirements are completed.
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a registered payment processor. TipPal operates as a technology platform (Payment Facilitator) and facilitates the processing of charges on your behalf through Stripe. See our security page for more detail.
TipPal implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable. No system is completely secure, but we follow industry practices to safeguard your data. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
We share your information only with the service providers necessary to operate TipPal — including Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email), Google Firebase (infrastructure and notifications), and our hosting providers — plus business partners as needed, and authorities when required by law. See Privacy Policy Section 5 for the complete list.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to legal record-keeping obligations. Email our data-protection channel at info@tippalcorp.com, or see Privacy Policy Section 6 for your rights.
TipPal is available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android devices. Visit the TipPal home page for direct download links.
